When you need that party poppin who you call? C.I. That is what happened recently when Central Intelligence rocked the crowd at Paul Allens Experienced Music Project (EMP) in the heart of Seattle. Central Intelligence has set the stage, since forming in 1997, as the latest of up and coming hip-hop groups out of the Pacific Northwest. This group emerges from Seattles Central District known and respected for all the hard hitting and competitive underground hip-hop sounds and artists! Central Intelligence combines as the eclectic sounds of five emcees: Lowkey, Citizen Cain, Diopolis, SeaJay and Dialect. These emcees come with separate styles and musical backgrounds that bring an assorted Northwest flavor that the hip-hop world is yearning for! 2000 has been a big year for the group, from performing in numerous local shows, to laying down tracks with local producers such as Vitamin D, Rocaphella, Bean One and Poetry. And finally in 2001 dropping their self titled debut album Central Intelligence. With numerous hot singles this group is determined to rain on the rap game with a big storm. The first single Move is currently on MP3 where it is gaining impressive reviews, is an up tempo sound that combines rhythm and hype lyrics, marked by a head bouncing beat. The single In The Sea provides a vivid description and representation of life in the 206. While the respect demanding sound of agent Diopolis in Protocol brings a swift and robust sound that is capable of moving any hardcore hip-hop crowd. The continuous output of smooth lyrics provides unmatched flows from both agents Citizen Cain and LowKey. Meanwhile, agent SeaJay provides a heavy, abundant and steady fall of lyrical flows that proclaims him as the B-Boy lyricist of the group. And to bring it all together, agent Dialects explosive presence adds distinctive and matchless lyrical skills to provide an unstoppable sound for the group. Therefore the fusion of these elements creates the epicenter of Central Intelligence!Central Intelligence definitely has a different sound from any other group Ive heard out of the Northwest. Id buy it! says Dana Sims A&R for Sub Pop Records. Central Intelligence is without an equal or equivalent sound in the underground hip-hop game. Central Intelligence is committed to making music to represent the culture of hip hop as well as putting Seattle respectively back on the map. The group is hopeful and determined to persevere over and beyond the Northwest locals in the game and gain national exposure.
